Tata EV Sales Jump 75% in Oct 2026: Punch EV Crosses 5,000 Units
Tata Motors has recorded a massive milestone in India's electric vehicle market during the festive month of October 2026. The company sold a total of 16,244 electric passenger vehicles in October, marking an impressive 75% year-on-year growth compared to the 9,286 units sold during the same month last year. With this strong demand, electric cars now account for 21.5% of Tata Motors' total passenger vehicle sales.
In the list, Tata Punch EV ranked number 1, which officially became the first electric car in Indian automotive history to cross the 5,000 monthly sales mark in a single month. Its compact SUV stance, practical driving range, and competitive pricing have made it a top choice for urban commuters and first-time electric car buyers across the country.
Alongside vehicle sales, Tata is rapidly expanding its public charging footprint to support daily commuters and highway travelers. The company's MegaCharging Network recently crossed 1,000 charging points across India, delivering a combined capacity of 40 MW. This growing infrastructure continues to make electric car ownership much more convenient for Indian families.
