Electric Two-Wheeler Sales Hit Record 2.23 Lakh Units in Oct 2026
India's electric two-wheeler market achieved its highest-ever monthly performance in October 2026, with total retail registrations reaching a record 2.23 lakh units. Driven by strong festive season buying and expanding showroom networks across tier-2 and tier-3 cities, electric scooters and motorcycles are rapidly replacing traditional petrol two-wheelers for daily commuting.
According to the latest Vahan retail registration data, TVS Motor secured the number one position in the market, backed by high demand for its iQube lineup. Bajaj Auto claimed the second spot with 49,067 units sold, while Ather Energy took third place with 31,796 registrations thanks to strong family scooter sales.
One of the biggest surprises of the month came from Hero MotoCorp's EV brand, Vida, which recorded its highest-ever monthly tally of 29,901 unitsβan 81% surge that pushed it into fourth place. Meanwhile, Ola Electric finished in fifth position with 12,096 units registered. The fierce competition among established manufacturers is giving Indian riders better battery reliability, longer ranges, and wider service support.
