The Punch EV costs much less than the XEV 9S, so more buyers can afford it. Tata has six cars in the top 10 list.
Which brands sold the most?
- Tata was first with 14,737 cars.
- Mahindra was second with 7,746 cars.
- MG was third with 5,226 cars.
- VinFast was fourth with 2,963 cars. This is its best month in India so far.
- Kia took fifth place and moved ahead of Maruti Suzuki.
- Tesla sold 291 cars, its best month in India.
Why are more people buying EVs?
Petrol and diesel prices went up several times after mid-May 2026. Many buyers now want a car that costs less to run. Tata Motors said its EV bookings are more than three times what they were a year ago. Also, there are now more electric cars at different prices, so buyers have more choice.
